CARE SECTOR
Over recent years I have been involved in training care workers who support adults labelled as having complex needs.
Specifically, I have encouraged 1:1 engagement based on a model of observation and response using a range of sensory inter-activities.
Bespoke programmes have been created for
Leading Lives and Mencap settings within Suffolk.
Testimonial
“Gill worked with our team to support sensory engagement sessions
with some of our customers that have LD and sensory conditions.
She worked individually with staff, role-modelling and demonstrating techniques and then coaching and supporting the staff as they worked alongside her to develop the skills needed.
The feedback from the staff involved was fantastic as Gill is such an inspirational practitioner who always puts the customer’s needs first and supported staff to offer flexible and responsive support based on the customer’s specific sensory needs.
Gill also supported me with some team development work and came into our training day to run a session with the whole team.
She was able to tweak her delivery to reflect the needs of the customers we were working with in a fantastically person-centred way.
The impact of the work Gill did with our team is enormous
and I can’t recommend her work highly enough .”
